Where is Long Beach Phu Quoc (Bai Truong Beach)?
- Location: Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang Province (formerly Duong To commune, Phu Quoc City, An Giang Province)
Long Beach Phu Quoc Island Vietnam runs parallel to Tran Hung Dao Street, the island’s main commercial road, stretching from Dinh Cau Cape in the north to An Thoi town in the south. The beach divides naturally into two sections: the northern stretch (from Dinh Cau to Eden Resort, approximately 5 km) which is livelier and more developed, and the southern stretch (approximately 15 km) which is quieter with more nature and fewer crowds.

Best Time to Visit Long Beach Phu Quoc
The ideal period to visit Long Beach is the dry season from November to April, when the climate is at its most comfortable. During these months, the weather is predominantly sunny with minimal rainfall, creating perfect conditions for beach leisure, sightseeing, and enjoying breathtaking sunsets by the sea.
-
November to April: Expect clear blue skies, stable weather, and warm temperatures averaging 25–30°C (77–86°F). In my view, this is the best time for visitors who want to fully experience Long Beach—whether it’s swimming in calm waters, snorkeling with excellent visibility, or relaxing under the sun without weather disruptions.
-
May to October: This period marks the rainy season, characterized by intermittent heavy showers and occasionally rough seas. Although the natural scenery remains lush and appealing, I believe this season is better suited for travelers who prioritize tranquility and lower crowds, as certain outdoor and marine activities may be restricted due to weather conditions.

Long Beach vs Bai Dai: What’s the Difference?
These two beaches are often confused because both translate to ‘Long Beach’ in English (‘dai’ and ‘truong’ both relate to length). Here is the practical distinction:
- Long Beach / Bai Truong (this page): Duong Dong west coast, ~20 km, lively and commercial. Best for easy access to restaurants, nightlife, water-sports rentals and shopping. Most accessible beach from the airport (12 km, ~20 min taxi).
- Bai Dai (northern beach, where Corona Resort & Casino Phu Quoc is): northwest Phu Quoc, ~15 km, quiet and resort-focused. Best for a peaceful resort stay with private beach access, sunset views and proximity to North Island attractions (Rach Vem, Vinpearl). About 30 km north of Long Beach.
Most travel guides distinguish the two by their Vietnamese names: Bai Truong for Duong Dong’s commercial beach, and Bai Dai for the quieter northern beach.
