CARIBBEAN STUB POKER
INTRODUCTION
Caribbean Stud Poker has been a casino favorite for many years. The game is played with a single deck of 52 cards, where players compete against the dealer, aiming to create a higher-ranking five-card hand than the dealer’s hand.
- Card Ranking: Ace is the highest and 2 is the lowest in the raking of individual cards.
- Suit Ranking: All suits have equal ranking.
HOW TO PLAY
The dealer will prepare, shuffle and cut the cards for the next round of play. *Please note that players are not allowed to cut the cards.
Players who want to join the game must place a wager on the “ANTE”. Once the dealer announces, “NO MORE BETS,” five cards will be dealt to each player and the house. After all the cards have been dealt, players will pick up and evaluate their cards to decide whether to “play” or “fold”. To play the hand, the player must place a bet in the “BET” area, double the value of the ANTE. If the player decides not to play the hand, they must “fold” by placing their cards face down on the table, and the ANTE bet and cards will be collected by the dealer. Players are not allowed to exchange or discuss their cards with other players. Cards must remain on the table, and in full view of the dealer, at all times.
Once all players have made their decisions, the dealer will reveal the house cards. If the dealer does not have an Ace and King or better (to qualify), all players’ ANTE bets will be paid 1:1 and the hand will be over. If the dealer does qualify, each player’s hand will be opened and compared to the dealer’s hand in turn, starting from the dealer’s right and working to the left.
If the player’s hand beats that of the dealer, the ANTE will be paid 1:1 and the BET will be paid according to the relevant odds as displayed.
If the dealer’s hand wins, the dealer will collect both the ANTE and BET.
